BRUNCH IN BRIGHTON, REDROASTER

BRUNCH IN BRIGHTON, REDROASTER
Hope you all had a super lovely weekend guys. Hang and I went to Brighton yesterday as it was nice and sunny and what better way to spend it than by the sea! I love Brighton as I grew up on the south coast, so being by the sea brings back happy memories. First on the agenda was brunch of course and you don't get a more Insta worthy spot than the Redroaster cafe in Brighton. Marble and gold - check, plants check, the list goes on....safe to say this place has all the right vibes for that botanical chic look going on. Ready to see some major interiors goals? (Also if the foods any good?!)

When we walked into the cafe we were greeted with a friendly face and quickly seated with menus. The seats were so comfy, Hang sunk right into the sofa! I was busy mesmerised with all the gold and marble, I mean check out the fancy sink by the door, totally beats the one at Nandos! Anyway shiny surfaces aside, we were ready to tuck into the food and drinks. Redroaster are well known for their coffee, which are ethically sourced and hand roasted beans. The food is a big deal as well, the chef has a Michelin star for 5 years. Sounds amazing right?

I had the cinnamon almond iced coffee, which was quite sweet but I didn't mind as it gave it a nice flavour. Hang's watermelon soda lacked a bit of punch though. The menu has a mix of breakfast and lunch dishes with a twist. You got herb waffles with bacon jam, pork shoulder ramen and baked eggs with green chilli. I love how adventurous the menu is and I go for the lobster buns with mango, spiced red pesto and radish.

I didn't know what flavours to expect but was pleasantly surprised, the lobster was tasty and not over cooked, the mango added a fresh sweetness and the radish a nice crunch. It was a little sweet over all but I liked the fresh flavours. Points for presentation though, how pretty does the plate look! Hang goes for the English breakfast with sour dough bread and it was a pretty good portion, I tried the black pudding and flat mushroom and it was yum!

We were happy with the food and service here, it's such a nice and relaxed environment even though the cafe was busy. I would recommend visiting Redroaster if you're in Brighton. It's a chic and laid back place to grab food or coffee solo or with friends. Every dish that came out looked great, a lot of thought had gone into creating a feast for the eyes and belly! I hope you enjoyed this post and it's given you some interior and food inspo! Let me know what your think of the restaurant?

ALFRESCO DINING IN LONDON, COPPA CLUB

Coppa club tower bridge London.

The heat is on in London and unless if you want to sweat it out at home, it means seeking any place where you can sit outside in the City! Our weekend plans was to go to the beach but Hang and I overslept and were a little hungover - oops so a drive to the beach didn't seem appealing. We dragged ourselves out of our flat, which feels like an oven and popped over to Coppa Club in Tower Bridge. The sun was shining, Londoners and tourists were out in full force and Coppa Club ticked all the boxes - outdoor area, views of London and Insta worthy setting, need I say more :)

BRUNCH & LUNCH CAFES TO TRY IN AMSTERDAM

BRUNCH & LUNCH CAFES TO TRY IN AMSTERDAM

Happy June guys, I'm back with a foodie post and talking about one of my favourite thing to do, brunching! My friends and I went to Amsterdam a few weeks and had a few hits and misses when it came to eating out in the City. We didn't have much luck with finding good places to eat on our first day and was a bit disappointed with the places we ended up. We wanted to make up for this so we researched places to go on our second day! I hope you find this post useful if you're planning a lil trip to Amsterdam and want to visit some nice places for brunch and lunch.

BISCUITEERS HAND-ICED BISCUITS FOR MOTHER'S DAY

BISCUITEER'S HANDMADE BISCUITS FOR MOTHER'S DAY

It's time to start thinking about the lovely lady in our lives, our mums as it's Mother's Day coming up. My mum is not one for big gifts but we love taking her out to a nice meal and giving her a bouquet of flowers. This year I can't wait to treat her to the Biscuiteers bouquet biscuit tin*. Biscuiteers make beautiful hand-iced biscuits in so many cute and colourful design and they taste really good, not too sweet and perfect with a cup of tea! I've had their London afternoon tea in their Battersea store and the whole place was so charming, literally something out of a children's book.

TAIWANESE FOOD IN SOUTH LONDON, MR BAO

MR BAO peckham

I never thought I would suggest to my friends to eat out in Peckham on a Saturday night. After reading reviews on Timeout, I was intrigued to try out Mr Bao, a Taiwanese restaurant serving fluffy white baos right here in South East London. Peckham was pretty rough when I lived there 5 years ago, now it's 'up and coming'. Ok let's see what the fuss is all about, cos not all good restaurants are in Central London right?!

WHERE TO EAT IN NEW YORK

WHERE TO EAT IN NEW YORK

Looking for the ‘best’ places to eat in New York can be tricky, there's so much choice! Yelp and TripAdvisor are good places to start but can be over whelming and Google can be full of ads. I don't usually pre plan where we eat but I hate just stumbling to the first place we see and being disappointed!

TASTY VEGETARIAN FOOD AT MILDREDS, LONDON

Mildred vegetarian restaurant

If you're after a tasty spot of vegetarian and vegan food you have to pop on by to Mildreds. Running for over 20 years, they have established themselves in the heart of Soho, London, satisfying diners with their internationally inspired menu. When I used to work in Soho, I loved grabbing a bite at Mildreds. This weekend when I suggested to back again with my sisters to enjoy an early dinner, it still had the same great atmosphere and food that I remembered.

SUSHI AND COCKTAILS AT STICKS 'N' SUSHI

Sticks 'n' Sushi
Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny day in London, my sister Thuy and I had a massive sushi craving so we made a lunch date at Sticks 'n' Sushi in Covent Garden. They are a popular Danish restaurant group bringing a fresh Japanese dining experience to London. The atmosphere is relaxed and cool, staff are super friendly and food excellent quality and delicious. The menu is a mix of well presented sushi and yakitori grill sticks, with a good selection of Japanese inspired cocktails too (think lemongrass and ginger.)
