Two posts in one week? I really hope I can keep this up and not leave you guys hanging for ages again! This week is actually a quiet one work wise, so I'm taking advantage of this downtime to catch up on admin, expenses and backing up drives before my next wedding shoot this weekend. It's also been really nice to catch up and read blogs again, yay.

4 THINGS I'VE LEARNT FROM WORKING FOR MYSELF
I saw a scary tweet last night, 4 months til 2018. Yep if that doesn't scare the bejesus out of you I don't know what will! It's pretty crazy how fast the year is going and I always panic - what am I doing, what have I done but honestly we should just chill and just enjoy our time right? This August has been 6 months since I quit my job and now working for myself doing something I love. After over 15 years of working for other people in mediocre jobs, I could not be more thankful and happy to do something I genuinely love and good at.
I started my wedding videography business
14 months ago, shot 14 weddings, 3 creative videos and have 4 weddings
coming up. I wanted to share with you guys some things I've learnt about
being your own boss, hopefully this will inspire you if you're in the
same boat or thinking of making the leap.

TRANSITIONING FROM A FULL TIME JOB TO FREELANCING
Last month I said goodbye to my full time office job to work for my myself as a wedding videographer. I'd been juggling the two jobs for around 10 months but now I'm in full freelance mode. So making the transition from 9-5 to freelance sounds like a dream right, no more commuting and working from the comfort of your own home - what's not to like? Well as any freelance will know it's not all coffee dates and glam offices! I wanted to share with you guys my freelance journey so far and how to make the transition as smooth as possible.

MISTAKES I'VE MADE & THINGS I'VE LEARNT FROM STARTING MY BUSINESS
There
are so many boss babes doing their thing lately, running their own
biz, online shops, blogging. I'm sure like me, even the
most well organised #girlboss have made a few mistakes a long the way. 6 months ago I launched my wedding videography business, no
portfolio, no professional videography experience. As cheesy as
it sounds, I was passionate about creating wedding films and made it
happen (trust me not as easy as it sounds!) Hard work aside it's been one of
the most rewarding and creative endeavors I've pursued. I've learnt a lot and definitely made some mistakes along the way. It's easy to feel like a failure but we have to learn from out mistakes right? I wanted to share with you guys some things I've learnt since starting my business. Hopefully you'll find it insightful and inspiring :)

WHY BUILDING A BUSINESS TAKES HUSTLE & HEART
You
guys know I'm all about following your dreams, finding your passion and
doing what you love. As much as I'm a dreamer, I'm also a doer and a
realist. It's been 4 months since I launched my videography business and
boy it's been an eye opener and a ton of hard work. I wanted
to share with you potential girlbosses out there, why building a business takes hustle and heart.
