BLO BLOW DRY BAR LONDON

Blow Dry Bar in London

Never heard of a Blow Dry Salon? It'll change your hair life, seriously. We all know a good hair day makes all the difference right girls :) My hair is pretty long, straight and to be honest boring, so it really needs some oomp now and then to give it that swish worthy feeling. Thankfully the stylists at Blo Blow Dry Bar in Covent Garden can turn your tresses to a whole host of gorgeous catwalk ready styles.

"No cut, no colour: just wash, blo and go."

Blo is America's original blow dry bar launched by Gwyneth Paltrow, well if it's good enough for Gwyneth... The Blo salon is in a gem of a location, down the courtyard of the Covent Garden marketplace right under the arches. It's a bit small so if you're an army of ladies, be prepared to wait!

May, Lauren and I stepped into the very pink salon and we're greeted by the friendly stylists, who sat us down to look through the Blo hair menu. Prices start from £28 and up to £110 for the blo bridal treatment.

From their 7 signature styles there should be something to suit different hair types. You can also walk in with no appointment, handy for those spontaneous events! They also have a braid menu if you fancy some waterfall braids, which is what May went for.

I wanted lots of volume and body - a la Cheryl Cole, so the stylist suggested the red carpet blow dry*.

You can get your hair washed before hand or in my case the stylist dampen my hair before starting to blow dry it and pinned my curls so they would hold for longer.

Here's Lauren finished blow dry, the relaxed waves looked great on her silvery blond mane. May had lovely soft curls and a pretty waterfall braid. Our looks took around a hr to do.

Once she took the pins out of my hair, it was voluminous, light and super glam! She also added in some Unite Expanda Dust Volumizing Powder at the roots for extra body. I love how my hair looked and the curls lasted the next day as well.

So is it worth paying to get your hair blow dried? For £28 it's not something I would try again unless it was a special occasion but if you want to save the pennies, there's currently a deal on Wowcher for half price - £16 not bad for celeb worthy hair :)

I think the concept of the salon is really fun, perfect for a girly day out, hen parties and pre party pamper. You can find them at: 34 The Market (lower courtyard) The Piazza, London WC2E 8RE. Open 7 days a week, tel 0207 836 5115.

*Blow dry was complimentary, all opinions are my own.
