"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer" I love that quote and I never feel guilty booking a plane ticket! One of my dreams has always been to travel to Thailand, I seriously love South East Asia, the culture, food and nature always gets me. Not to mention the weather is always a plus! So coming back with a tan, hundreds of photos and a bucket load of memories, Thailand did not disappoint. Even though the air is hot and humid and hits you the moment you leave the airport, the breath taking beaches, tasty cuisine and friendly people makes up for it.
My partner and I travelled to South Thailand to Phuket and visited Kata, Kamala, Kho Phi Phi and Patong. Passing through Maya Bay (where they filmed The Beach) has to be one of my all time favourite moments! Although the islands are very touristy, amongst the abundance of carved elephants and 'genuine' fakes, you'll see sights that will take your breath away. We were hardly ever pressured or heckled into buying anything or to dine in their restaurants, which makes a change from touristy towns. The Thai people were friendly and respectful and made the experience much more enjoyable.
So 2 weeks of sunshine, 33 hours traveling on planes, a scattering of mosquito bites, 1 crazy tuk tuk ride, a few interesting Thai massages, countless tom yum soups, freak rain storms and a whole lot of adventures - I can't wait to go back one day and explore more!
Hope you enjoy the photos :)
