Give me a garden, outdoor food and drinks and I'm happy, it didn't take me long to check out the Summer pop up
Beautiful Allotment at the Geffrye Museum. It's run by Bourne & Hollingsworth, the guys behind the gorgeous botanical restaurant in Clerkenwell. Beautiful Allotment is a pretty garden where you can enjoy alfresco food and drinks and I knew my sister
Thuy would love it too, so we went along to check it out. It was also my first time out without baby. It was really weird and I felt sad leaving him but it was good for me to have a break and have some me time!
I love what they've done to the open space, it felt really homely with the vegetable patches and flower pots. It's also unique and creative with the tractor, tree house and twinkling lights. There's lots of seating from garden chairs, old doors used for tables, deck chairs, day beds and a tree house. It was busy but had a chilled and relaxed atmosphere as well as music to add to the fun vibes. If you're a large group, you can book spaces online.
You can order cocktails, sis had the Nettle Gimlet and I had the
Ophelia. I've not had alcohol for nearly a year now so it was good to
have a drink in such a pretty surrounding with the sun shining!
Asides from cocktails, they also serve fresh veggies and BBQ food, we had the vegan platter to share for £9 the meat platter is £12. The sweetcorn was so tasty, I love how you're eating food grown from the garden!
So sis and I were taking pics of the swing cos you know #forthegram
and this couple come over and offer to take some photos of us, which was
nice. I always feel awkward asking strangers to take photos of me
generally!
Thuy and I had a really nice time at the Beautiful Allotment, it's a relaxed place for drinks and get together with friends. It was a lovely sanctuary in busy East London and Bourne & Hollingsworth have done such a good job creating this space. The pop up is open Weds - Fri from 4pm and weekends from 12pm. It's open until 26th August and the nearest tube is Hoxton. Let me know if you'll be popping along!
