Did you guys enjoy the long weekend? What did you get up to? I ate, went to a BBQ (who didn't?) and ate some more haha. It actually feels like Summer in the UK these last few days but I still leave the house with a brolly and jacket, you know just in case...So with Summer vibes in the air, I love wearing floaty and lighter fabrics. I just need somewhere nice and hot to go and been dreaming about going to Italy, either the Amalfi coast or Sicily, both look so beautiful! Anyway holiday plans aside, I wanted to share with you guys a style post showing off some lovely Summer pieces from Debenhams. Their holiday shop is bursting with lots of inspiration and looks and it's also been a while since I've roped Hang to take some snaps of me, hope you like them :)
One of my current favourite trends is embroidery, it's a pretty
way to dress up an outfit and who doesn't like a flower applique or two
:) Summer can be tricky to look stylish and not beachy if you live in
the City, so these black embroidery floral shorts* are great as they look chic with a touch of boho. Isn't the pattern pretty? I love the warm tones with the touch of blue, they look really complimentary. They're also not butt skimming short, no one wants to be that girl on the bus! Even
though they don't have pockets, they make the shorts nice and seamless.
Black is also really easy to wear and ideal for city dressing (can't be doing with white shorts!) There's also a matching top if you like the pattern :)
These shorts would look great with high heels or flats like these rose gold slingbacks sandals*. Since I've got these I've worn them so many times, they're easy to throw on and also pretty sturdy. They don't feel like they're going to fly off if I'm running for the bus or something! The rose gold adds a bit of luxe to any outfit and I like how they cover up a lot of your feet. I find with thin sandals and flip flops, your feet get so dirty especially in the City! They also don't rub, which is a bonus.
I may not be laying on a sun lounger soon...unless I sign up for membership at Soho House. But a girl always need nice swimwear just in case we get whisked away to a dessert island right? I like bikinis but I've gotten more into swimming cossies lately, because my beach bod is just not there anymore! I feel a one piece looks instantly chic and sophisticated. This geometric bandeau swimsuit from Jasper Conrad* makes me want to lounge on the back of a classy yacht or something. The fit and style of this suit is really well made, I can feel the quality and comfort of this swimsuit compared to other cheaper ones I've worn before. The straps are detachable, which is great not to worry about tan lines and the halter neck looks sexy don't cha think?
It has padded cups which give your bust a nice shape and hold and the ruched detail on the tummy area is way more forgiving when you've had one too many PiƱa coladas! The hardware detail on the bust is a nice classy touch. I'm usually a size 10 but I got a 12 and it fits really well, I find cossies always a little too snug. What style of swimwear do you go for?
It's crazy how fast this year is going, June is creeping up on us and I want to make the most of the good weather when it's here! It's a busy time of year for me with plenty of weddings coming up to shoot :) Let me know what you're up to this week? Hope you like this style post and it's given you some Summer style inspo. If you fancy checking out the Debenhams holiday shop, they currently have a sale on, so perfect time to grab a bargain or few :)
