Dresses, dresses, dresses, it's time to talk about the dress. The last few months have been a whirl wind of wedding planning but I've kind of lost momentum at the moment, maybe it's bridal burnout? Whatever it is the only thing that has been ongoing is searching for what I'll be wearing down the aisle!
I'm sure most of us girls know what kind of dress we want right? I thought I would just find the one and that would be that. Let me tell you it's a mind field out there! I didn't think it would be so tricky, but 2 boutiques and 2 sample sales later, which incidentally took 2 hours to queue for, as well as trying on about 15 dresses I now have my heart set on the one...They say searching for the dress is like searching for your future husband - you get butterflies, palpitations and possessiveness, haha only kidding - it's only half true ;)
I knew I always wanted something modern, classic and stylish as I don't suit the boho, vintage look. I've figured that even if it may not look like my style, I'll try it on anyway, as some dresses don't have very good hanger appeal as one helpful SA mentioned! I had my heart set on a fishtail mermaid
dress but it was fun trying on the bigger ball gown dresses, I really did feel like a fairy tale princess!
Searching for the dress hasn't been what I expected at all, dresses are so expensive for starters, take in to consideration alterations and accessories into your budget - it all adds up! I doubted my own judgment at times so make sure you bring along supportive friends or family. Thank you to my lovely Bridesmaids for accompanying me - don't worry there wasn't any mishaps a la the Bridesmaids movie!
