Last night my boyfriend and I went out for dinner at 3 South Place Bar & Grill in the city. This restaurant is part of the South Place Hotel owned by D&D London, who
run a string of high class restaurants around the world. The hotel is
chic and modern and is clearly influenced by the arts, with the
Conrad-designed interiors, art pieces on displayed and paintings on the
walls.
The city is significantly quieter on a weekend, so the ambiance of the restaurant was very relaxed with a handful of diners but still cool and intimate. It's not too pretentious, just the right vibe for a chilled out but classy evening. If you prefer something more buzzy, be sure to pop by in the week!
My
boyfriend had the house terrine, pickles and sourdough toast. The
terrine was really nice, more coarser than pate and went well with the
bread.
For mains, I had the chicken breast, onion & sage, chanteney carrots. The dish was nice, chicken wasn't too dry and the sauce just right.
My boyfriend had the duck leg, plum & black pepper glaze, sautéed black cabbage. It was a little sweet but still very tasty.

We were pretty full otherwise we would of gone for the desserts, next time! It was a lovely meal, reasonably priced and nice chilled atmosphere. Perfect for a relaxed date night or catch up with friends if you want to get away from the madness of central London on a Saturday night.
